DeafGirl it took me awhile to get a sale. 2 days is nothing. My first store didn't get a single sale in 6 months.
My second store started getting sales within the 1st month. My 2nd store compared to my 1st one was much better SEO targeted and I also did a lot more market research on this one (found hot products, products that sell etc in my niche). I used $100 google voucher this time (be warned this will cost you about $25+ when you use it which they'll take out of your account at a later day - and maybe more - so watch how much you spend each day/week). This brought in only a few sales but I am no marketing expert and still learning in this area so could greatly improve - it did however bring in a lot more new customers and I got some sales. Not heaps but enough to show it's potential.
Then I did considerable SEO work myself across my site and that has improved it's visibility in google ranks. However my sales are very low without paid advertising - but - I'm pulling in some sales here and there with NO advertising which is great and I attribute that to my SEO work I did on the site.
Social media channels are great also, I post on most of them regularly. This also helps increase customers/traffic coming to your site - just get your products out there. I think if I could afford more on advertising I definitely would see a big increase in sales given the trend I'm seeing with no advertising, however right now I cannot do that in my financial situation so I'm doing it the slow, hard way.
Hands down you really have to spend money to make money in drop-shipping. Of course not everyone does if you have a killer niche and top notch site! but it definitely will help you get some sales if you have the money to spend on advertising your products through paid channels.
