Welcome to the family!
It can be a bit difficult to puzzle out everything right away - so I will try to explain everything as simply as I can.
Dropshipping allows you to sell products to customers without actually stocking the items yourself. You as a merchant would post products on your online store, from which a customer places an order and pays for the item. Then, you need to fulfil it by placing an order for that same product from the supplier who sends it to the customer.

The easiest way to add products to your Shopify store is by going to Oberlo app and clicking on "Search products" or "Oberlo Supply" buttons. You would be able to explore a large variety of products and add them to the Import list. From here, you will be able to edit product descriptions, select images, and the variants you wish to use. After you are happy with the product, "push" it to your Shopify store.
Therefore, after your customer buys a product from you, you will need to purchase it from your supplier who will ship it directly to your customer. Your profit will be the difference between the amount of money a customer paid in your Shopify store and the cost of the product you paid to the supplier.
